As we approach a new year, we at the South Dakota Parkinson Foundation (SDPF) want to take a moment to express our deep gratitude for your ongoing support. Navigating a Parkinson’s diagnosis can be overwhelming, and our mission is to walk alongside individuals, families, and care partners throughout this journey. We are here to empower you with resources and connections, helping you find meaningful support and services within your community.

One thing that sets the SDPF apart is that we are fully self-supported—your contributions directly fund our programs here in South Dakota. Unlike many local chapters connected to national foundations, we operate independently, ensuring that every dollar raised stays within our state to serve people with Parkinson’s and their loved ones.

This year, we invite you to join us in raising $7,500 to fund scholarship programs that provide direct financial support for individuals and families affected by Parkinson’s. Your donation will enable us to expand our financial assistance program, which offers up to $250 per month for critical needs like:

• Monthly gym memberships for Rock Steady Boxing classes.

• Materials to build a home-access ramp.

• Speakers for support groups to offer education, inspiration, and hope.

• Support for local pool classes, designed to promote mobility and wellness.

• Contributions toward the purchase of a U-Step walker to enhance stability and mobility.
